I would like to submit a review for Turtle River Whitetail Outfitters just outside of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. Turtle River is owned by Richard and Kathy Bailey, a very honest, hard working couple that will treat you right and do their very best to give you the hunt of a lifetime. Richard is a whitetail fanatic who has spent a lifetime chasing whitetails and is a dedicated trophy hunter himself, with many 170"+ bucks to his credit. He shares his knowledge and passion for whitetails with you at the lodge, and it is evident as well when you sit in your stand. He and his guides spend the pre-season scouting and running trail cameras to inventory the bucks, allowing them to place their hunters in the best stands possible. They use top quality bait, and they do not skimp on the quantity. Their equipment is top notch and will get you in and out of the bush safely and on time. You can expect to see multiple bucks and/or deer most days on stand, with some nice quality bucks in the mix. In my trips to Turtle River, I have seen a "shooter" every time! Some people ask me, "How many shooters did you see?" Well, I only ever see one shooter, because I shoot it and my hunt is over! But Richard will do his best to put you in a spot where multiple "shooters" are frequenting, so hopefully one will show up during your hunt. The lodge is warm and cozy, and Kathy puts the special touch to make you feel right at home. Her home-cooked meals are worth the trip by themselves! All in all, the entire operation is top-notch and I would recommend it to anyone considering a Saskatchewan whitetail hunt.
